Feared and isolated, the island state of Malangi is home to the Tieflings. It was on this island that they were born*, and where many return to die.

Ships avoid the island, be they pirate or merchant… for Malangi has a thick veil of mystery and rumor surrounding it. Some say ships that sail too close are never seen again. Some even claim that the island is built upon the bones of an ancient and long forgotten dead god.

Among the rumors concerning the tropical paradise are stories of vast treasures, as tieflings are known to be a race of thieves. Many people believe that the dreaded isle is holding enormous caches of valuables, brought back to the island as last offerings by elders who returned shortly before death. Legend has it that tieflings must make “the offering” for safe passage to their afterworld.

Looking out onto Solitary Bay, the capital city of Insular is a walled compound that is said to have never been breached. Its walls and towers are adorned with visages of their infernal ancestors, perhaps to ward off passersby.
