Varanu are a horse-like lizard mount, which have a permanent 10′ sphere of silence around them. This offers both advantages and disadvantages for the rider. They are mostly found with nomads in the deserts of Sutain, and are believed to have come from South Vescenda originally. Because of the sphere of silence, riders communicate with each other via a simple language of hand signals.
