Dersi is an island off the Tusky Reef comprised of lush highlands, in the northern portion of the western regions.

Dread Barrow

Amidst the highest and most brutal peaks of the northern mountains of Dersi is a barrow, built in the tradition of the dwarves of Noorsdad. Its presence here, so far from the homeland of the dwarves, is a mystery. No person seeking answers has entered the barrow and survived.
Locating the barrow is the first trial. The mountains of Dersi are an unforgiving place where wild creatures (and the terrain itself) seem to actively seek to destroy intruders. Reaching the barrow is the second trial, as those that have arrived and lived to tell the tale return with stories of black shadowy figures emerging from the barrow to drive off trespassers. Entering the barrow and returning is something no one has ever succeeded in doing.
The last known attempt to enter the barrow was by Garvin Stoneborn – a dwarven explorer obsessed with the burial site of his possible ancestors. His blood-curdling screams were heard by his companions mere moments after crossing the threshold. As his small exploration crew looked on in terror, a black, ghostly, wild-eyed Garvin emerged from the doorway mouthing only one word: “RUN”, before being sucked back into the dark doorway. The crew frantically ran for their lives, but only one ever made it back to civilization to tell the tale: a halfling named Bokuf Feeblebeak, who was eventually driven mad by nightmares of the event.
