Saffodeem

Saffodeem is a joyous holiday celebrated on the first full moon of autumn. It is associated with fertility, harvest, and rebirth. Decorations include arts & crafts adorned with reptile imagery.

Traditions include:

  • Costume Balls (where people dress as reptiles)
  • Playful, non-lethal duels with heavily padded, wooden swords
  • Incredibly elaborate cooking of various reptiles for the family feast (Often decorated with sliced almonds for scales, carved carrots for teeth, black olives for eyes, etc.)
  • Pranks involving eggs

Celebrations last three nights, representing the past, present, and future.
