The Breach is a vast crevasse that stretches for well over one hundred miles. Its depth is unknown. The southern walls of the crevasse contain a series of cavern networks that apparently reach into the mountains if Xunta, from which all manner of beasts occasionally emerge. Xunta, Dinwan's southern jungle neighbor, is known as a place of magic. Many blame Xunta for the aberrations and monstrosities that crawl out of The Breach, while some of Dinwan's tribesmen often consider the creatures punishment for not having appeased one of their tribal gods.

Along the edges of The Breach are many tiny monastic outposts, where solitary monks have nested. These monks (known as "The Sworn") have pledged an oath to keep the aberrations from invading the surface world. The Sworn only interact with each other during cooperative battles against the aberrations. The rest of their lives along the breach are spent in quiet solitude, in meditation and personal training.

The Sworn are brought meager supplies once a month by young initiates of the larger monastic orders in Dinwan.
